The third edition of my 2008 book “The Daemon: A Guide To Your Extraordinary Secret Self”, with a new cover, title and introduction, will be published on 1 July 2026 under the new, and possibly more descriptive title, of “Listening to Your Secret Self: The ‘Daemon’ Spirit Who Guides Our Lives”.This new title focuses in on my hypothesis that “The Daemon” is the equivalent to your “gameplayer” in that we experience many lives, each one being subtly different from the one before as the Daemon (Gameplayer) gains more knowledge of your personal “Bohmian IMAX”.
In effect, “The Daemon” is like Phil Connors in the movie “Groundhog Day” only we don’t have a “Groundhog Day” but a “Groundhog Life” (which was, incidentally, the title of the Russian language edition of my first book). By experiencing each day, and investigating the outcomes of guided decisions, Connors explores a myriad of life-paths (as Gorge Borges suggests we do in his story, “The Garden of the Forking Paths”.
This application of Everett’s Many-Worlds Interpretation to the “simulation argument” and the “holographic universe model” as applied to subjective consciousness is now proving very popular with a large number of new writers.
I am delighted that more and more people are being introduced to these concepts and alternate models of reality.
Just as a reminder, my first book was published in 2006 and was first written in 1999/2000 and my “Cheating the Ferryman” model has remained virtually unchanged in the last 26 years.
