When I spoke at the Scottish Paranormal Festival at Stirling on Sunday 2d of November I made the point that there is strong evidence that the brain “records” every second of our lives and that this is either stored within the brain in a compressed digital-like format or it is downloaded into the universe’s version of “The Cloud” also known as the Zero-Point Field.
In my book “The The Infinite Mindfield I present a scientific analysis of how this process may work. Of course this is highly speculative but it shows that such a thesis is not crazy or woo-woo nonsense. I do the neurology, the neurochemistry, the physiology and the physics to support this idea. This, in turn, supports the “Bohmian IMAX” model whereby if we experience deja vu sensations we are experiencing (literally living within) a “digital” simulation of our life (or lives). Again for those who wish to say that this is unscientific madness I suggest they check out the work of (among others) Professor Vlatko Vedral, Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford and CQT (Centre for Quantum Technologies) at the National University of Singapore and a Fellow of Wolfson College. Vedral is a serious, professional scientist and is considered to be one of the leading theoretical physicists in the world…… and he is far from alone in this belief that the universe is actually made up of digital in-formation and is, in effect, a huge “computer” simulation.
I take this to its logical extreme and suggest that our everyday experiences within linear time are also part of this simulation and that this simulation is uploaded into perceptual consciousness from the Zero-Point Field. If this is the case then we can experience our lives over and over again, as we can a computer game in which we move an on-screen sprite through a virtual reality scenario created by the programme. This shows my age but in “Tomb Raider” the on-screen Laura Croft sprite may die hundreds of times before the game-player completes the game. The game-player learns from multiple attempts (and multiple “deaths”) of his on-screen avatar how to negotiate all the dangers, pick up all the clues, acquire all the “goodies” in order to live the “perfect life”. In my first book, Is There Life After Death? I suggest that this is what happens at the point of death … we “Cheat The Ferryman” and move into a virtually timeless virtual environment that I call the “Bohmian IMAX”. Within this we can live hundreds, maybe thousands, of iterations of our life (lives) all subtly different and changed by the actions and decisions we made in the previous lives. In Tibetan Buddhism this state is known as the “Bardo” and the concept of “the eternal return” is found in most cultures around the world.
Can I prove this? Probably not …. but I can present, and indeed do present, strong evidence that such a conclusion can be drawn from the evidence presented us by science and personal experiences. For example with regards to the “recording” or “uploading” of our lives into consciousness I present, as one small section of the evidence, the mental state known as “Hyperthymestic Syndrome”. I am NOT making this up …. it is recorded in serious medical and scientific journals. It is inexplicable within our modern scientific paradigm … but it still happens! Here is an article written by Dr. Darold A. Treffert (hey guys, another “real” scientist!). Dr. Treffert and I have been in touch a few times and he is recognised as the worlds leading expert in “Savant Syndrome”, something I have written about in the past and will feature strongly in my forthcoming book “Opening The Doors of Perception” ….https://www.wisconsinmedicalsociety.org/…/hyperthymestic-s…/ ….. Please share this short article if you find it of interest …. I am keen to get these ideas “out there” ….
