Funzing – Opening The Doors of Perception
26 February, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm GMT
£13.20What are the doors of perception? How can they be opened? Is it possible there could be another alternative reality? Join author Anthony Peake for a mind-bending look at extensive research into our brains, reality and the work of Aldous Huxley.
Opening the Doors of Perception will update Aldous Huxley’s work and suggest process and procedures whereby man can, indeed, perceive reality in its true glory. It is suggested that there is a scale of perceptions whereby the doors of perception are slowly opened and, bit by bit, they reveal the true nature of “reality”
Most human beings perceive the doors of perception as being securely closed. However, there are occasions when the doors become slightly ajar and allow fleeting glimpses of what the Gnostics called “The Pleroma”.
However for others the doors are prized upon by certain neurological processes; starting with migraines and progressing through various “altered-states” such as temporal lobe epilepsy, bi-polar syndrome, autism and finally, when the doors are fully open, schizophrenia.
This talk will be based upon material from my book “Opening The Doors of Perception” and will introduce a concept I call “The Huxleyian Spectrum”
Venue: Cafe 1001, Brick Lane
