The Bradford Literary Festival 2017 – The Time Theories of J.B. Priestley.
8 July, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm BST
£6.00I am delighted to announce that I will be a speaker at this year’s Bradford Literary Festival in early July. At 1300 I will be involved in a panel discussion on J.B. Priestley and time. I will be joined by Priestley’s great-grand son, Luke Goaman-Dodson and, hopefully theatre producer Braham Murray (to be confirmed).
Here is a general introduction from their website:
It is 80 years since J.B. Priestley wrote Time and the Conways. Or is it? Join writer Anthony Peake and academic Luke Goaman-Dodson, (also Priestley’s great-grandson), in a fascinating discussion that may change the way you perceive time forever…
Born and raised in Bradford, J.B. Priestley grew up to become one of the UK’s most well-known playwrights. His fascination with the nature of time influenced his work to the extent that he famously wrote three plays dedicated to the topic, and even penned a book of time-theory. This captivating exploration of his work will delve into Priestley’s plays and examine the questions that preoccupied him. Is time linear? Or is it a construct of the mind?
