Dr. Carl H Smith , Director of the Learning Technology Research Centre (LRTC) and Principal Research Fellow at Ravensbourne University. Carl’s work is absolutely fascinating. He is currently working on 4 EU projects including the Horizon 2020 project – WEKIT (Wearable Experience for Knowledge-Intensive Training). This involves using VR as a fully immersible experience and as a way to “reality hack”.
As some of you will know Carl was a member of the small team of academics and consciousness researchers (Dr David Luke, Dr Engelbert Winkler, Dr Dirk Proeckl Sarah Janes, Samantha Treasure, Dr Stephen Webley, Mat Harvey, Lena Korkovelou, Ralph Buchner) who took part in our “Escaping Plato’s Cave” event at the Drakelow Tunnels last April and will, hopefully, be joining me when we attempt to re-create the Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” in Greece next spring (With the assistance of my Greek publisher Ioannis Leventis of Kaktos). https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/staff/…
