Deja Vu when I was 8 years old.

Deja Vu - that strange feeling that one has lived this moment before - is recognised as being the most common 'psychic' experience. So what exactly is Deja Vu? Can it simply be a confusion of perception or is there something much more important taking place? This is the place to record your own experiences of this mysterious phenomenon ... maybe even join in a very important world-wide survey that will attempt to finally explain this mystery.

Deja Vu when I was 8 years old.

My mothers family was all French speaking, and I had never had the chance to be around many of her relatives, nor had I the chance to learn the language up to this point in my life.
This summer day my aunt, Grandma, mother and I were visiting my great Aunt in Quebec. It was a huge old farmhouse, that had been built in late 1700's. The farm land was extensive as well, and we were given a tour of the fields and animals. I felt very much at home there. It seemed as if I knew what was going to be over each hill and vale.
When we went into the main house to have our dinner, my relatives were all conversing in French, and mom, to keep me busy and not bored, asked (in English) if I would go and get a glass of water for her. Without hesitation, I got up and went to the correct cupboard, retrieved the glass, filled it with water from the 'kitchen' well, which was built into the cupboards, you had to open a door, and put a little bucket down into the 'well' and draw up the water. I noticed a lot of the talking had now stopped.
"How did you know where to get the water?" my mom asked.
"It has always been right here" I answered.
My uncles and aunts found this funny, and they began telling mom in French, "ask her to get us the creamer from the pantry, the butter ladle from the cupboard, ' etc, and I brought everything they had asked for, on command. I had NEVER been in this house before, but I just knew where to find things. It was as if I had lived here before. I did not have to search for anything. Finding this completely amusing, my relatives asked me if I could find where the camera and albums were. I did. I went immediately to the hidden spot in the wall, (there were a lot of little built in cubbies in this house) and I got the camera and albums out.
My mother called me over to the table then, and told me to sit down. She said that it was not polite for me to be snooping around in other peoples houses that I hardly knew, and what would my relatives think of me, being such a snoop. (she thought that I had previously staked out the house, and found all these things, but I had not)
After the meal was done, I went upstairs to play with my little relatives, but, I really spent the day going from room to room, opening drawers and closets and hidden spaces, there was secret passages all over this sprawling farmhouse, and there was even a wall in the parlor that when you pushed on it, it opened up into a type of bookroom. I was delighted that I knew even before opening the doors, cubbies , and walls what was going to be in them, and I explored the passageways like I had been in each one before, they were very familiar to me.
I did not want to leave that house, and I was sorry when the day was over. It was like MY home. I felt like I belonged there.
When I was older I asked mom if she remembered that day, she did, and she was embarrassed that I would have snooped in the house. I told her I had not. I just knew where stuff was. I told her about the passageways I was in, and she said that when the house was originally built, the hidden passageways were put in for a means of escape, in the times of war.
I would love to go back to that house that was so 2nd home to me.!

You are right of course. I need to go back!
I have no even thought about it much until I joined this site.

I will have to contact my relatives in Quebec and see exactly where the house is, I do not remember from the when I was 8. I hope that the house is still standing.

It was an adventure, wasn't it!

HI Desiree, Great story ! Past life memories is what i have to say. You may intimately know some of the older people of the house or neighbourhood, or at least that must have been the case when you were younger. Yeah, go back there, it's an adventure. I have been to my past life place in the Himalayas, found it through DejaVu initially, then astral travel, and then i actually went there. I'll put up a post about it tonight. Hey, thanks for reminding me, forgot about that Deja Vu episode
