Cheating the Ferryman, Is there Life After Death, The Daemon.

This is the forum for all who are interested in the theory of what may happen to consciousness at the point of death as explained in the books 'Is There Life After Death - The Extraordinary Science Of What Happens When You Die' and The Daemon.

Now this is interesting - Daemonic/ Eidolonic Portraits.

Anthony Peake suggests that we all consist of not one but two areas of consciousness. He terms these the Daemon and Eidolon. He suggests that the Daemon has been known by many names including the "Guardian Angel", "Spirit Guide", and "The Genius". Many religions also suggest a similar duality including Judiasm, Sufism, Manicheanism, Gnosticism and Kabbalistic Judaism. Have you experienced a guiding voice, warning dreams, a doppelganger or just a feeling that you are "not alone". Let us know your experiences.

You know what, there are two things that worry me about this photograph, specifically the Eidolonic one ...... he is wearing an ear ring in both ears which in 1978 (when the photograph was taken) was rather unusual for a guy.

The second issue is harder to spot. Round my neck is a pendant that was given to me by my then girlfriend. She thought it was very funny to by me a silver "Aries The Ram" symbol. Now in my Daemonic image it has become what looks like an Ankh cross whereas in the Eidolonic image it looks as if the rams are having a quick snog!

Hmmmmm..................

Also my 1978 Eidolon looks curiously Jesus-like which, I can assure you folks, was not my image at that time. Also I am sure the Eidolon has slighly longer hair!

My Eidolon DEFINITELY looks more friendly than my Daemon!

Whoops, it seems that I originally forgot to post the link to my Deamon! After all, he is quite scary.

It seems that my Eidolon is 'Weiser' than my Deamon.

Considering how thin my Daemon looked, I took another picture, taking more care in looking straight and keeping my head even, as that warped the first impression of my right side.
These ones came out much more flawless, where you can hardly see the any cutoff lines.
This is my left eidolon, which still looks like Gustav.
The left side shows my physical side, where I really like to do physical activities.

Image

And this is my right Daemon, which gives a different impression than the left. And actually seems more like me then the left side, which is likely because I feel more from the right.

Image

This is the photo I took it from.

One thing I noticed with these pictures and other people's pictures, is to notice how warped or unequal peoples heads are. After seeing the right and left sides together, and how they even out the head, the regular shots seems really off proportion.
The top of my right side is bigger than the left and the left is wider or bulkier around the lower cheek area.
I suspect when people have nearly equal proportional head structures, on both sides than they would be fixed in the left. I don't know if someone can have a structure where both sides would support the right.
But I feel if the right is identical or nearly identical to the left, then they would probably be more focused in fundamental physical logic and physical existence.
So I suspect a warped head is probably a good balance, ironically enough.
But I am not sure why we would refer to the right as the Daemon side.
I haven't read the Daemon book yet, elew is reading that, I am reading the itladian one.
So I am not up on what exactly the Daemon is thought of being.
My first impression was that it was beyond form. A discussion with SAB was an attempt to find out if the daemon existed in form or outside, and it wasn't resolved at all.
I would feel the right and left were the eidolon and the daemon communicated more likely with the right side.
I am the one that writes between the threads

Saturnine,

Thanks for posting your images, but do you realise that your Eidolon seems to be in a Universe that has what looks like a beer tent whereas your Daemon has a doppelganger behind it!

Coch,

The itladian significance of the images is really rather tenuous but still interesting and very amusing!

In my books I suggest that possibly the reason why we have two hemispheres of the brain, and why they are absolute mirror-images is that each is the location of an independent locus of consciousness. This has been supported by experiments with split-brain patients. From this I extrapolate that the Daemon may be located in one hemisphere and the Eidolon in the other.

It is known that each side of the brain has control over the opposite side of the body. This is why some stroke victims lose movement on one side only - the opposite side of the body to the location of the stroke in the brain.

This bilateralism is across the whole body including the face. This is why Rita Carter suggests the exercise that we have been having so much fun with on this section of the Forum.

In effect she suggests that each side of the face reflects the “personality” of the respective hemisphere.

Cheers
