I watched The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus and thought of ITLAD. It isn't really in keeping with Tony's ideas but has elements that make one think of the nature of our individual reality. Martin, you are a fan of Heath Ledger who died half way through the filming, so you might want to watch it. Terry Gilliam did a great job of working around the situation. Tom Waitts and Christopher Plummer are amazing. The film is a bit of a disappointment because of a weak script, but the art is so enjoyable.

I have just finished watching a movie called "Premonition". It is replete with ITALD concepts and deals mainly with precognitive dreams and deja vu. The dreams are real time precognitive experiences of actual events yet to occur. For the individual involved these experiences are made even more confusing as they are not experienced in their proper linear order. Although there are some logical inconsistencies in the film, I would highly recommend all who are interested in ITALD to view it if they get the chance. On the DVD there are also 2 special documentaries that cover real life precognitive experiences which I found both informative and fascinating.

Monday night I went to see a fantastic film - Inception.

You may have heard quite a lot of hype about this film recently, if not, you probably will soon! This film is, in my humble opinion, the best film since Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind that deals with the mystery of dreams & memory. The human mind is an amazing landscape of imagery and this film does a beautiful job of travelling through the many layers of it.

The film is about a group of specialists who are hired to plant an idea into somebody's mind. To do this they must design not only one dream, but a dream, within a dream, within a dream! That's dream to the power of 3 !!!! The main character, played by Leonardo Decaprio is grappling with his own issues that often over spill into the dream. It has a great cast of characters and you get really engrossed in the film, I didn't even realise the film was nearly 3 hours long!

This film really is amazing and will actually blow you away. I really recommend this film, to everyone.

The same night I had a dream and realised I wasn't running as fast as I should be, I realised I was dreaming, checked my hands (this is a known way of determining if you're asleep) and then the fabric of the dream started shaking and I woke up! This film is a brilliant synthesis of Eternal sunshine, The science of sleep and The good night, all combined into a more broad blockbuster style of movie.

In case you couldn't tell by now, I liked the film.

I saw a great film recently.....it has been out for a while but i did not know about it, it is called "BLUEBERRY"...kind of a western but the central charecter in the film ends up going to an old friend who happens to be a shaman, and he ends up taking Aoaska (probably spelt that wrong) and having a mind bending experience. Really good film.

Hi Morrigan,

I have not seen this movie but I have been told about it. I suspect that the substance you are describing is something called Ayahuasca.

This substance has been a regular source of discussions of the Walker Group over the last year and I have included a short section on it in my forthcoming book. The reason for this is that this
substance is directly related to dimethyltriptamine (DMT), a substance central to my new hypothesis.

Indeed if this interests you in any way please check out the latest edition of Paranormal magazine where I describe in some detail my "angle" on all this.

It is also linked to my work with my two Austrian associates, psychologist Dr. Engelbert Winkler and neurologist Dr. Dirk Proeckl. Full details on what all this is about can be found by following this link:

Hi Tony, yes thats the stuff, i have never tried it of course but i have tried liberty caps on many occasions and had some pretty hairy times on the stuff........very out of body experiences including time shifts and audio strangeness too. I always loved to experiment with liberty caps although i have not done them for some time...plus of course i was not into the open mindedness of ...well my mind as i am today, so it might be interesting to see what affects the drug has on my mind now that i understand myself a bit more. Not, that i sugest it's a good thing to do drugs, but i have done them many times and i know what to expect. I would like to say though......that my taking of hallucinagens came with a bit of a price.....the experiences that i had always takes a bit of you with it, kind of like a trade, so i would not advise that anyone abuse it...at all. It was through sheer curiosity that i experimented with liberty caps.....and it did open my mind....so to speak. But not everyone gets positive feedback from substances as i am sure everyone would probably agree.
Anyway...it was positive for me, but because i dabbled in the drug a few too many times....like every weekend  I did find that the trip extended into my conciousness when i had not taken it.....for some months afterwards. Therefore i think anyone trying it should definately consider the phrase....Use not abuse.
I would still like to try it again.....to experience the drug on my mind now that i am older and more...in touch with myself......but no where near in the same quantities that i used to do. Plus i would have to ensure that things were right for the occasion. No plans of yet to go there soon.......but may be at some point :D

I watched the Adjustment Bureau last night.

I really enjoyed it. It was funny in all the right places, didn't take itself too seriously (which may not have been the intention of the original author Mr Dick but hurray for Hollywood!). Whoever compared this film to Bourne Identity however is a complete idiot and should never be allowed to work in film again. It's nothing like Bourne Identity, not even a little bit. Other than the fact Matt Damon is in it, I can think of no other similarity other than the fact that there are people in both films.

Emily Blunt is very desirable as the sexy "one that got away" character. As I said though, the film battles between being a love story and a interesting look at fate/destiny. In this way it's more similar to Eternal Sunshine and the Matrix than anything else.

Defintely worth a watch though anyway.

I have seen The Fountain and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, both love stories, both extremly ITLADIAN.. only in very different ways. I Highly recommend both, ESOASM, the second one, is very vanilla sky with a twist and The Fountain is more spiritual and psychedelic. The Fountain also has an amazing soundtrack.

Always found 'Scanners' just too close to personal experience for comfort. Over played head explosions aside i feel it may have been one of those drip feed info films. Do we know the long term implications of many of the new synthetic drug compounds? Thalidomide for pregnancy pains anyone?
'Solaris' the original russian version.
'2001' of course.
'They live' is a corker and available on the web for free.
'Altered States' nuff said.
'Two lane Black Top' for the road movie fans.
fmj.
